RAW file conversions only

I will take your RAW files and accurately and professionally convert them to files that will yield good looking prints from any reasonably accurate output service. This service includes individual corrections for color, contrast, and density for each image, sizing to a specified size, and sharpening based on that size. I will return to you print-ready JPG files at your desired size, written to a high quality CD or DVD. This service can include B&W conversions as well. Please submit files in folders named accordingly, along with a text document that includes your contact information and the desired output size, and any special instructions or concerns. It is always helpful to know where you will have these printed, so please include that information as well, when possible.

This service is priced at $0.35 per image, with a minimum order of $35.

RAW file conversions with proof prints

This is the same as the service described above, but it also includes a print from each image. Please specify 4x5, 4x6, or 5x7. Prints are available in B&W or color, with or without a small black or white border. All prints will be made with Fuji lustre surface photographic paper (not inkjet or dye sub). The files returned to you on disc will be sized the same as the print size that you've ordered, at 300ppi.

This service is priced at $0.60 per image for 4x5 and 4x6, $0.85 for 5x7.

Additional optional services available with the above conversion services:

custom cropping for proof prints or proof print files: $0.10 each.

With this option I will crop each image to fit the aspect ratio of the print, and also to straighten horizons and vertical lines, and for general pleasing composition. This is an "all or nothing" service. If you opt for this, I will add 10 cents to the cost of every file in the order, and crop each file at my discretion, as needed. This is especially recommended in situations where your prints are of a different aspect ratio than your cameras sensor. Also, it can be a tremendous improvement to the look of your work if you aren't as confident with your in-camera composition as you'd like to be.

RAW conversions archived on high quality media: $8.00

With this option, I will add to your order an additional disc containing all of your files, in full native resolution, as quality 12 JPGs, uncropped and unsharpened. This is an excellent way to archive an event in a form that will enable you to reorder any size prints months later (years, even) and recreate a look very similar to the original proof prints. Please specify if you want "all files in color" or "Color and B&W files as ordered".

Reprints

From your RAW files I can produce prints for you, up to 11x14, that will be perfect for your custom albums or parent albums, and most reprint and enlargement purposes. These are made with the same photographic paper as the proof prints, and will have the same general look. Consider these to be on par with inexpensive "machine" grade prints, as they will have an overall correction for color, density, and contrast. I will give the image a quick pleasing crop to fit the print size. Black & white prints will have the same look as the B&W proof prints.
